A myocardial infarction (MI) occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is blocked. According to Western Medicine (WM), the blockage is often a buildup of fat, cholesterol and other substances, which form a plaque in the arteries that feed the heart. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), MI symptoms suggest a clinical condition of Heart blood stasis.
