Sprostoniella terria Sp. nov. (Monogenea: Capsalidae Baird, 1853: Trochopodinae) Parasite of Platax teira, from Iraqi waters and the Arabian Gulf

During the study of five species of Platax teira collected from the Arabian Gulf, one parasite, Sprostoniella sp. Capsalidae Baird, 1853, was detected in the gill filaments. The results indicate that this parasite is considered a new species in Iraqi marine and Platax teira fishes, in other words a new host and a new geographical distribution.
